This study describes the emergence of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Afghanistan and the Kingdom of Hejaz and the development of those relations starting with the participation of Afghanistan in the Islamic Conference held in Mecca in 1926 to grant Islamic support to the modern Kingdom and consolidation those relations in the reign of King Mohammed Nader Shah in 1932 by a treaty in which the two sides recognized the full independence of the kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan and the exchange of diplomatic representation between the two countries to coordinate with the Saudi authorities for the care of Afghan pilgrims, the study then touched on Saudi Arabia's efforts to resolve the Afghan-Pakistani dispute over the Pashtunistan issue and then the role played by the Afghan government in Islamic conferences in supporting of Arab and Muslim issues.
