Patterns of community upbringing and their predictive ability on the motivations for political participation among Mu’tah University students
This study aimed to identify patterns of community upbringing and their predictive ability of motivations for political participation among students at Mu'tah University. The descriptive analytical approach was used, and the study population consisted of (17,231) male and female students, and a systematic random sample of (467) respondents was used. The study reached results, the most important of which were:
1.Positive upbringing patterns prevailed, as they were practiced to a high degree.
2.The level of political participation among Mu’tah University students was high.
3.There is a positive effect between patterns of socialization and political participation among students at Mu’tah University, and these patterns explained (56.2%) and political participation among Mu’tah University students.
4.There was an inverse effect with negative upbringing patterns and political participation among Mu’tah University students, and these patterns explained (38.5%) and political participation among Mu’tah University students.
The study recommends carrying out awareness-raising initiatives by activating the university’s role in encouraging political participation among students, by focusing on the requirements of this participation, and giving it special attention within national education lessons and lectures.
