The Jewish character has long been characterized by a victim mentality, and this character was reinforced by the hostile events that Jewish groups in Europe were exposed to during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; where the Zionist movement used these events to push Jews to immigrate to Palestine. It is noteworthy that the feelings of victimhood and feelings of persecution continued to dominate the Israeli mentality even after the establishment of Israel in 1948 AD, and the poems written in the shadow of the Al-Aqsa Flood events expressed the victim mentality latent in the Israeli character.
This research comes to monitor the features of the victim mentality in the Israeli character through analyzing the poetry written in the shadow of the Al-Aqsa Flood events, which reveals the Israeli character that became addicted to the role of the victim through a selection of poetic production written in the shadow of these events.
The research is divided into an introduction, a preface, and two axes; as follows:
Preface: The events of the Al-Aqsa Flood: Background and reasons.
The first axis: "The concept of the victim mentality in Zionist thought and literature".
The second axis: "Reflections of the victim mentality in Hebrew poetry written in the shadow of the Al-Aqsa Flood events." Then a conclusion that includes the most important results reached by the research, then a list of sources and references.
