This study aimed to identify the reality of using the Internet among faculty members at Tanta University, and also aimed to identify the motives and obstacles for faculty members' use of the Internet in the scientific field at Tanta University. The study sample consisted of (120) faculty members from teachers, assistant professors and professors of both sexes from the Faculties of Arts and Sciences at Tanta University, The researcher used the descriptive analytical and comparative method and prepared the questionnaire to collect data. She used the SPSS program to calculate the Kay square and the Kronbach coefficient to calculate the degree of agreement and the difference between the two samples of the study, To analyze data and arrive at the results of the study, the most important of which are: the absence of statistically significant differences between faculty members in their use of the Internet in the Faculties of Arts and Sciences and the variable of age, gender, specialization, and academic rank. The absence of statistically significant differences between the type of colleges and the average number of hours of teaching staff use the Internet per day. According to the Cronbach laboratories in general, there is an agreement between each of the faculty members in the Faculties of Arts and Sciences in terms of the motives that drive them to use the Internet in the scientific field, and there is also an agreement between each of the faculty members in the Faculties of Arts and Sciences in terms of the obstacles that push them to use the Internet in Scientific field.
