The study sheds light on citizenship in human societies during different historical eras, the prevailing pattern in each society, and the developments through which the concept of citizenship passed until democracy prevailed in Europe and spread throughout the world. The study also discusses in detail the concepts of citizenship and democracy and the spread of interest in citizenship education in modern societies. The study also presents, through description and comparative analysis, the important relationship between the flourishing of thought and the development of the concept of citizenship in advanced societies, and links the importance of the flourishing of contemporary thought related to citizenship and democracy in Arab societies and the development of the presence of citizenship in Arab national action.
