The study addresses social legislation and its role in securing and caring for the lives of people with disabilities in Iraqi society. The problem of the study lies in the lack of research that deals with the subject of social legislation and its role in securing and caring for people with disabilities, as a field study in Baghdad. The importance of the study lies in its being an extension of the studies of some researchers. Previous people who studied social legislation. It is considered the first study, to the researcher’s knowledge, that dealt with social legislation and its role in securing and caring for the lives of people with disabilities in Iraqi society. The aim of the study was to identify the role of social legislation towards securing and caring for people with disabilities in Iraqi society, and the study methodology used a descriptive analytical approach, Using a questionnaire tool in the University of Baghdad community with a random sample of (350) male and female teachers, which is a descriptive and analytical study. The study found that the role of social legislation in securing and caring for the lives of people with disabilities in Iraqi society was very high, as the general average was equal to (4.39) and the degree of approval was (strongly agree), with a standard deviation of (0.63), which is a low value that indicates homogeneity.
