This research deals with the effect of prepositions on the significance of verbs in the Syriac language compared with Hebrew and Arabic languages and the resulting change in the significance of these verbs. There are verbs that are combined only with prepositions; there are verbs that retain their original meaning when these verbs are added to those prepositions, and other verbs that change semantically completely when added to these prepositions. This research deals with the meanings of prepositions in the Syriac language and their comparison with the Hebrew and Arabic languages in terms of meaning and usage.We can determine that the verb uses the preposition to complete its meaning or to form a new connotation that may differ completely from the main connotation of the verb. Therefore, the meaning of the verb determines the type of preposition to complete its significance and its meaning. This study is divided into two main parts: first, the study of significance of verbs that are associated with prepositions. Second, the study of the significance of verbs that may or may not be associated with these lprepositions, and the change in the significance of the verb, and the creation of a kind of contradiction in the significance of these verbs.
