After the events of 2003, Iraq has witnessed a new media stage, where the E-newspapers with different patterns and trends have created in the light of the political and ethnic pluralism which prevailed in Iraq.
The emergence of the E-newspapers sites has transformed the media practice of gate keepers from a totalitarian system to a democratic one, establishing new methods in the media practice.All of these have resulted in many factors that have affected the professional performance of the gatekeeper, especially in the media of Iraq.The research has based on the theory of gatekeeper. The problem of research was the fact that some Iraq's newspapers have created sites for E-newspapers , and in view of their different forms of ideologies, policies and directions, as well as administrative, technical, economic, social and political pressures, all of these have effected on p < /strong>rofessional performance of gate keeper in these sites .The study has been aimed to identify the most important factors which affects the professional performance of the gatekeeper in the E-newspapers sites of Iraq. The search has been based on both descriptive and analytical approach,
The sample of the study has been chosen from gate keepers, who are working in theE- newspapers of El-Sabah, Al-Taakhi, al-Mashriq, and Tareeq al-Shaab.The sample size had 47 respondents.
The research has conducted within one year from 1/1/2016 to the end of 1/1/2017. The data has been collected through the questionnaire.The questionnaire has been corrected before applying it by a number of professors of media and statistics. The professors' recommendations have been adopted in terms of modifying some of the statements and deleting or adding some of them. Also The coefficient of consistency for of the questionnaire has been calculated. The research has relied on an in-depth interview technique for all data and information necessary for research.
The results have showed that the most important factors affects the professional performance of the gatekeepers were the political factors, the factors of job satisfaction, the administrative and technical factors, the economic factors, and the social factors in sequences . The results also have been confirmed the validity of the shypotheses of the study. The study has been recommended by the profession ofethics, standards of accuracy and objectivity, reduces the bias of decision-making, and to protect the media by the Iraq's security authorities, especially for media.
