In this research is dealing with one of the important Sumerian goddesses which was has great important effect on the religious life of the people of ancient Iraq. The goddess Gatumdag was the daughter of the mail goddess Ann, the deity of sky and the chief of the Sumerian pantheon. Gatumdag occupied an important role to her worshipper Gudea, the ruler of Lagash, who prayed from her to help him and also asked her to be her mother and father at the same time. According to that, the goddess Gatumdag responded to his prayers and gifted him life, protected him, and this goddess was doing several functions: the most important of them concerning and caring about the ruler since his birth day until being a strong ruler, able on running the country.
