This research aims to shed light on The City of Mashkan-Shabir and its Relationship with the Kingdom of Larsa, and how it became of great importance to it due to its location in one of the ancient waterways of the Tigris River, and then it was the front line of defense and the port of Larsa towards the north. The kings of Larsa were keen to take care of it and fortify it.
Through the research, several results were reached, perhaps the most important of which are:
-The knowledge of the division of the surface of this city and its canals contributed to giving an image or depiction of what cities were like in southern Iraq at that time.
Larsa's need to find an outlet on transportation and trade routes, and then control the waterways, caused the growth and prosperity of this city, and its transformation from a mere small village to The Second Capital of the Kingdom of Larsa.
