Asceticism is one of the subjects that are closely connected with the religious aspects and the morals of man. It is extremely important because it rseforms the behaviors of man. It enables one to live this life moderately without paying too much attention to the materialistic aspects. This of course, has great importance in deciding mans fate after his death. Furthermore, it plays a significant role in abolishing the social distinctions. Hence, communities of humanity are in an urgent need of such subjects; especially, in modern age which is predominated by materialism. Unfortunately, the materialistic progress comes at the expense of the moral and spiritual values.
The representatives of the religious ideas and principles call for asceticism. The writings of the ports who are known for their wisdom and devotions, like AL-Shareef Al-Murtadh, can be considered as a call to denounce worldly pleasure.
