This study aimed at lingering and analyzing the concept of Intertextuality in The Poetic Play Meesha’ The savior; King of Moab (Meesha’ Malek Moab Al – Monketh) By Saeed Yacoub. The historical and religious intertextuality were chosen for their vital importance and abundance in the play more than other kinds of intertextuality .
The study followed the descriptive analytical approach and tackled these topics; the poet and the play, theater and heritage, the historical and religious intertextuality.
The study concluded that Saeed Yacoub excelled in his use of poetic intertextuality in its different types since it was blended authentically with the structure of the poetic text to express the theme of the play which was derived from history and the heritage characters to manifest a modern idea that celebrates the inevitable triumph of rightness and the defeat of the invaders and dictators.
