Al- Madain is one of Iraq's cities in Baghdad, is know right Now as (Salman Pak) relative to the Sahaabi Salman Muhammadi (may Allah be pleased with him) who was buried In .
Its had enjoyed a unique geographical location , as there were many factors that made its feature including its have a charming naturally; and since ancient times Al- Madain was importance from the religious and historical said in Iraq and the world.
In order to know the history of al - Madain in geographic books , the research is divided into three sections .
the first part Discuss the meaning of the word al - Madain, and its history in ancient times, As we studied the population and their faith in the past time until Islam, also we explained the administrative divisions of the city.
The second part explains the history of al - Madain since Islamic conquest until Abbasid era ,the third part deals with most important cultural aspects of this city .
