The study explores the moon as a symbol in Nazik al Malaika's poem "Tree of the Moon". The study comprises a theoretical introduction about the linguistic and idiomatic concept of symbol based on its usage in the Holy Quran, Classical and modern Arabic poetry, and literary criticism. The practical part of the study analyzes certain quotes of the poem to unveil the symbolic value of the moon. The findings of the study are highlighted in the conclusion. Descriptive analysis is the approach used in this study.
