Many monuments have been found for king Darius in Egypt. Among these monuments found in Egypt were the Alabaster vessels, gold and glass vessels were also found. However, most of the vessels that were found and dated back to Darius’s reign were made of Alabaster. They were large in size for example, what was used for storage, and what was used in food, while others, the large type may have been buried in the graves for religious uses.
Most of these vessels, especially during the Persian reign, were not engraved with inscriptions, and the engraved vessels dating back to Darius’s reign engraved with a cartouche of King Darius’s name and the year of his ruling, sometimes engraved with the capacity of the vessel. , And until now one vessel was found engraved with the name of King Darius in four languages (Old Persian- Elamite- Akkadian-Hieroglyphic).
All these vessels are made in Egypt, even the vessels that were found with Persian writing on it.
Similarly, the name of the King Darius I was written in the same form on all the vessels, although his name was written in different forms on the most of his Monuments which found in Egypt.
