The research is aimed at uncovering the relationship between how Iraqi journalists elicit external news from news websites and how they process it. The research is descriptive and it adopts the survey analytical methodology. A 100 Iraqi journalists were purposively sampled and surveyed. The research has reached the following conclusions: the rate of Iraqi journalists news elicit from external websites have increased, the values of immediacy, importance, and conflict have respectively topped the other values of the news elicited by the Iraqi journalists, and the news value of immediacy was superior to other news values favored by Iraqi journalists when eliciting external news from news websites. The research has also concluded the efficiency of personal and professional factors of the journalists and its impact on their work especially the factor of personal and professional experience at processing external news and the factor of the editorial policy of the institution they are working for. There were significantly statistical differences between the Iraqi journalists based on their demographic variables (including occupation, years of experience, education, and field of study {partially}), and the rate of their foreign news elicit from news websites, significantly statistical positive correlation between the Iraqi journalists external news elicit from news websites and the characteristics of those websites, and significantly statistical positive correlation between the Iraqi journalists external news elicit from news websites and the factors influencing how they process it.
