Women occupied an exceptional place in the Pre-Islamic poetry. This was reflected through the mirror of literature. Women existed in all types of poetry. Yet they had a unique presence in the poetry of knights poets.
In his study, the researcher tackles the semiology of the beloved woman in knights poetry. The study traces the meaningful signs used by knights poets on talking about women in a unique manner that matches the distinctiveness of their language and poetic diction. Woman was the witness of their heroism as well as the partner and the beloved. She shared with man his spiritual and materialistic presence, and so he was ready to take adventures for her sake and with her love. She, thus, occupied a big space of his life and this was reflected in his poetry.
Through the semiotic approach, the researcher seeks to trace such signs which referred to women to study and analyze them in a bid to decode such signs and reach their meaning and core in the light of the semiotic approach.
