Abstract

As the political Islam was a key party in the changes and challenges that Egypt experienced since the 25th of January till the 30th of June and beyond, Media including online media - as a one of the new media- had to cover the associated events, So the researcher wanted to disclose the role of the online media in forming the youth knowledge about the political Islam, he also wanted to study the types of effects that occur as a result of reliance on online media as a source of information about the political Islam, Whether cognitive effects - the main objective of the study-, emotional and behavioral. The researcher applied the Survey Method in his research, and used the questionnaire as a research tool upon 400 people from youth in Great Cairo.
The researcher has achieved the main objective of the researchwhen the result concluded that online media help in forming young people knowledge about political Islam, however it doesn't have emotional effects, but it may make them take a particular behavior, this is what revealed by the study result.
