This thesis deals with the automated processing of the Arabic language in its morphological aspect, in light of computational linguistics. This is aimed to enable the computer to carry out two main functions: morphological analysis and morphological structuring, i.e. analyzing the word into its main elements from which it is formed, whether it is a noun, verb or preposition, in addition to demonstrating its roots, rhythms, prefixes and suffixes, as well as its vowelization, shifting, diphthong, adding of hamza , deletion of one or more letters. Meanwhile, the structuring is the implementation of the derivational morphological rules on Arabic roots, to generate possible nominal or verbal derivatives for each root, according to the morphological capabilities of the Arabic language.
The researcher handled the topic of prefixes and suffixes in Arabic language through presentation, counting and description. He described their formal types in terms of Ifraad (Word without prefixes and suffixes) and Tarkeeb(Word with prefixes or suffixes or all of them), as well as their impact on the morphological structure of verbal and nominal derivatives, supporting his views with explanatory examples.
The researcher also dealt with the formal symmetry in nouns, verbs and prepositions, especially in the event of not putting vowels to the word, and consequent various analytical possibilities for the word, and stating the ability of automated morphological processing to infer such possibilities, add vowels and provide a description for their elements.
