تتناول هذه الدراسة استيلاء على برغل على إيالة طرابلس الغرب 1793-1795، وذلک من خلال التعريف بعلى برغل، مع عرض للأسماء والألقاب التى لحقت به، وقد توصل الباحث من خلال الرجوع إلى المصادر المعاصرة له إلى أقرب الأسماء إلى اسمه الحقيقى. کما تناول البحث العوامل التى کانت وراء استيلاء على برغل على طرابلس، وسياسته إزاء سکانها وموقف السکان من هذه السياسة حتى خروجه منها فى 19 يناير 1795 وعودة حکم الأسرة القرمانلية إلى طرابلس.

This study deals with Ali Burgul Taking over of the west of Tripoli 29 July in 1793 to19 January 1795, through showing the different names which Ali Burgul Known by, and the researcher conclude by using the contemporary references the nearest name to his real name. and the study making clear the causes of Ali Burgul taking over of the west of Tripoli, and his Policy towards its population, and the position of the population towards this policy until his leaving it on to19 January 1795 and the return of the Karamanli family's ruling.
