The ancient Akkadian period (2370-2230 BC) is one of the most important times in Mesopotamia because it represents a real turning point in the political and military dimensions. This resulted in the formation of the first kingdoms in the ancient world. Which was able to achieve the political and territorial unity of Mesopotamia.
The Akkadian was a native of the Arabian Peninsula, where they migrated and gathered in various places of the Fertile Crescent. They were their first settlements in the Levant and later moved to the northwestern parts of Mesopotamia along the Euphrates River.
A state that was established by the creation of a single dynasty is distinguished by the fact that the kings who ruled them directly for one and a half centuries are a clear indication of the internal stability of the country. They have been called Acadians in relation to their capital, which is still unknown. Which researchers have made in determining its location as one of the important capitals in Mesopotamia. The Akadian practiced agriculture, which depended on permanent irrigation and cut irrigation channels from the Euphrates River to the places where they settled. Their plantations were mainly wheat and barley. Their animals were cattle, sheep, goats, donkeys, etc., which they used to transport and fulfill their needs.
With the beginning of the Akkadian era began the features of the ancient civilization of Iraq change a fundamental change in terms of national and political, and emerged elements and elements of civilization as a result of the great cultural development. At the linguistic level, Akkadian was used in conjunction with the Sumerian language, while the use of the Sumerian language remained in the religious texts. On the political side, the system of life moved from the religious system to the secular system and the king was no longer a great priest of the gods, but a master of the four corners of the worlds.
